Innovations from Junior Engineers, Technicians and Scientists, JETS, Scholars, Engineers, Academicians, Scientists, Industrial professionals, Technologists and Researchers from Schools, Colleges, Universities, Research centers and Industry are invited for exhibition in the 2024 International Multi-Disciplinary Conference to be held from 18th to 20th December, 2024, at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka, Zambia. All submissions will be reviewed and evaluated, and the innovator should be able to exhibit the innovation during the conference. All the selected innovations after exhibition will be eligible for a Zambia Research and Development Centre - Science and Technology Innovation Grant (ZRDC –STIG).
The Zambia Research and Development Centre administers the Science and Technology Innovation Grant. The grant is aimed at assisting Zambian youth to develop scientific and/or technological innovations, with specific focus on innovations that are relevant to the creation of wealth and employment.
For the purpose of this grant, an innovation is “a new scientific and /or technological idea or an adaptation that would change the way of doing or making something and whose product or result can be commercialized”.
Innovations must:
1. Address some national priority areas highlighted in the Seventh National Development Plan (SNDP), Vision 2030 or the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); such areas as value addition to raw materials, engineering, manufacturing and industry, renewable & alternative energy, human and animal health, agriculture, livestock and fisheries, environment, construction and building, mining, Information and Communication Technology, new and emerging technologies.
2. Be locally developed or adapted and as far as possible utilizing local raw materials
